Post-dinner relaxation prior to an early bedtime, in preparation for a very early wakeup call for the next day’s Seattle Marathon. Ahhh, so happy to return to a city I lived in and loved for a summer back in college. The sun-drenched waterfront was a peaceful ending to a lovely day in a city dear to my heart.
I had escaped to New England, but surely the rain must find me again.
Work took me to New Hampshire for several days, where I was able to take advantage of the more open, less crowded environment.
Same location as in this post a few days ago. Did I mention we’ve had a very wet year?
The above is a photo of water. Specifically, of the reflecting pool at MoMA on a beautiful day, with perfect blue skies. Coins on the bottom, people, buildings, and sky reflected. Utterly astounding design, constantly changing images reflected, nothing lasting more than a few milliseconds, dependent on the movements and changes of everything in the field of view. Transient art by definition. A gorgeous place to spend time on Memorial Day.

A perfect Sunday afternoon in Washington Square Park. La Grande Jatte has nothing on Washington Square Park (except being immortalized in a spectacular painting (one I try to see whenever in Chicago)).
