74/365: Imagine

A last walk before departing Prague took me by the John Lennon wall, an important site of opposition during the communist era.

Other nearby remembrances of those who suffered

My night ended in the lights of London, prior to a connecting flight back to the US the next morning. I particularly liked the combination of direct and reflected light in this photo.

73/365: Stones in twilight and at night

One of the distinguishing features of Prague are the stones, as my feet can undoubtedly attest from a few times running. Above: the Golden Way at night.

Several photos quickly taken (mostly from the tower over the Charles Bridge) while doing a brief bit of touristing during lunch break.

A beautiful midday sky greeted me for a walk up one of the seven hills of Prague (and certainly the most visited one).

Prague’s castle on a hill at sunset. Photo taken from the convention center during a break period.

Prague is lovely to explore after dark, with light and shadows giving its signature sights an entirely different feel.

The statues on the Charles Bridge in moonlight, clouds, and mist of the river are particularly otherworldly (which is, indeed, the point)

Work being done on the Powder Tower in Prague. From further away:

One of the things that most intrigues me during my travels are the differences in how people get their “fast food” (possibly due to my frequently partaking in late night food options) – the range of sausages in the fast food options in Prague is unlike anywhere I have been.

Late night in Prague (note: it rained every day I was in Prague)

I came to Prague for work, and certainly the majority of my time in Prague was spent on work activities, but I realized on this trip why I had fallen in love with Prague on my first visit way-too-many years ago.
