I have already noticed a change in how I view things photographically due to the consistent effort necessary for Project 365. I’m going to allow myself the luxury of reflection, identifying what I like best of what I’ve done, choosing and re-posting what I (and readers) think of as the best photos of the month.
This photo started it all (though it had nothing to do with P365 at the time of shooting, not being relevant until January 2 when I decided that, hey, this sounds like a fun challenge):
Days 2-3 were simple iPhone photos, and Day 4 was simple documentation of a phenomenon. It was only in the first full week of 2009 that I started to really recognize the possibilities that P365 posed for me.
P365 has gotten me to take photos that I otherwise may not have and that I think have been effective at capturing moods.
I have also started to get better at seeing the possibilities in a scene in a way that differs from the original rendering by my eye:
I have gotten better at using minimal compositions.
Certain days of course are transcendant

Some subjects it took a few days before I saw it in the right light.
One thing I’ve enjoyed is paying greater attention to the day-to-day changes in background scenes
and how the nominally mundane can be seen differently.
And of course I have to thank the readers and commenters for encouragement and criticism!
